Challenge
A mining contractor had to mobilise 12 × 100-tonne dump trucks to a South Kalimantan site before the rainy season closed the mine road.
Every week of delay meant missing that quarter's coal production target.
- 100-tonne unitsToo wide and heavy for public roads when fully assembled.
- Weather windowThe mine road closes once the rains set in.
- ReassemblyHad to be done on site by the manufacturer's technicians.

Solution
-
1
Partial dismantling at the port
Dump bodies and wheels were removed at Tanjung Priok so the units fit the barge.
-
2
Barge direct to the site jetty
One barge carried 6 units, on two back-to-back sailings with no transhipment.
-
3
Lowbed from jetty to workshop
Main frames moved by lowbed at times agreed with the mine road operator.
-
4
Reassembly with the manufacturer
The manufacturer's team reassembled the units while our team supplied cranes and the work area.

“The last unit arrived a week before the first rain. Any later and we would have lost a quarter's production.”
